Projects
- The Shiraz CSP power plant is situated near Shiraz. It became operational in 2008 and it has a capacity of 250 KW and it is currently being upgraded to 500KW capacity as a R&D project done by University of Shiraz.
- The Yazd “ISCC Yazd” came into operation in 2010 with a capacity of 17MWe. The design and research has been done by Fichtner Solar Company and Iranian Electric Power Research Center (named NIROO Research Institute).
- Street lighting and traffic lights are powered by PV solar systems in Tehran and some other major cities.
- Some other major projects have been done in Iran for water heaters and electrification of rural areas.
